As the sole developer, I diligently built the foundation and logical core of the application using the power of C++ and assembly language to create a strong and secure foundation for our unique approach to crypto security and uniqueness.

In recent weeks, my main focus has been on thoroughly testing the compatibility of the application core with different types of devices. This critical step entailed extensive testing to ensure smooth integration and optimal functionality. At the same time, I carefully assessed the synergies between the application core and the backend, creating a sustainable and interconnected ecosystem.

Looking to the future, my immediate goal is to steer the project towards creating intuitive apps and web interfaces specifically designed for mining NFT devices. This key step aims to improve accessibility and provide a seamless user experience, allowing a wider audience to interact with our innovative solution.

Update on DeviceNFT and Galxe Quest Assistant Integration:

Iā€™m excited to provide a detailed update on the device score system and its role in enhancing security and Sybil attack resistance within the DeviceNFT and Galxe Quest Assistant integration.

Device Score System:

  1. Score Calculation:

    • The device score is calculated on our backend, and it reflects both the activity and complexity of the quests completed on that device.
    • Devices accumulate points based on:
      • Quest completions: Each successfully completed quest contributes base points to the deviceā€™s score.
      • Quest complexity: More complex quests, such as those requiring additional user verification or identity checks, reward higher points.
      • Anti-Sybil measures: Quests involving anti-Sybil mechanisms, like passport verification or other identity checks, will offer additional points, promoting honest and secure participation in the system.

  2. Multi-User Devices:

    • If multiple users operate the same device, the total score earned from quests will be divided proportionally among them. This ensures fairness while preventing exploitation through multiple users artificially inflating the deviceā€™s score.

  3. Hardware Flexibility:

    • The system allows for partial hardware replacements without resetting the deviceā€™s score, giving users flexibility to upgrade or replace components. However, full hardware replacements will result in the device being considered new, resetting its score.

  4. Prohibition of Virtual Machines:

    • To maintain system integrity and prevent abuse, virtual machines are prohibited. The system ensures that each deviceā€™s score is tied to real hardware to ensure fairness and security.

Why the Device Score is Important:

The device score serves several critical purposes in this system:

  • User Trust and Reputation: The score becomes a key indicator of the trustworthiness and long-term participation of a device. Devices with higher scores will be seen as more reliable, providing a clear metric for users and the system to identify trusted devices.
  • Incentive for Honest Participation: Users are motivated to complete complex quests and adhere to anti-Sybil measures to boost their device score. This not only benefits the user by improving their standing but also ensures that the system is populated with verified, legitimate devices.
  • Preventing Exploitation: By tying the score to real hardware and user participation, it becomes much harder for bad actors to manipulate the system with multiple fake devices. The device score helps create a fairer ecosystem, where rewards are given based on genuine user activity.

How Device Score Enhances Sybil Attack Resistance:

  1. Unique Device Identification:

    • The device score system creates a unique identity for each device, linked to its hardware and associated quest completions. This makes it increasingly difficult for malicious actors to engage in Sybil attacks, where a single user creates multiple fake accounts to gain an unfair advantage. The score provides a strong signal of the deviceā€™s authenticity and long-term participation in the system.

  2. Motivation to Complete Complex Quests:

    • By rewarding users with higher points for complex quests that require stringent anti-Sybil measures, users are incentivized to engage with the system honestly. Devices that regularly complete such quests will accumulate higher scores, making them more trusted within the ecosystem.

  3. Barrier to Exploitation:

    • Since the score is tied to both user participation and device activity, it becomes much harder to farm or manipulate scores through fake accounts or devices. The systemā€™s focus on hardware-based identity (with flexibility for upgrades) adds a robust layer of security against such exploits.

Display in Galxe Quest Assistant:

The Galxe Quest Assistant extension will dynamically display the device score in real-time, reflecting the deviceā€™s progress and activity within the system. As users complete quests, especially those with anti-Sybil mechanisms, they will see their device score increase, motivating further engagement.
